Important Notice_National Welfare Fund

As the new Labor act (2074 BS) and regulation, does not have any provision regarding welfare fund [as Bonus act, 2030, section 13 has referred previous labor act (2048) for staff welfare fund], department of labor has clarified the matter with clear reference and procedural guidance.

As per the notice,

Since, the provision for National Welfare Fund was prescribed under Bonus Act/Regulation and established by GON, it is no more relevant to refer labor act/rules for such provision.

Also as additional information,

Department of Labour, National Welfare Fund Secretariat has ordered for deposition of the amount as set aside for national welfare fund (30% of undistributed bonus) under section 13 of Bonus Act, 2030 within the prescribed time (i.e. 30 days of bonus distribution) along with previous dues if any.
